Offers the support, resources, and assistance of people with extensive knowledge of deaf culture and hearing loss through peer group development and support by presenting information about the latest communication technology to all age groups, facilitating communication between foreign born and English speaking individuals who are deaf, advocating for interpreters in numerous and varied settings, introducing individuals who are deaf to captioned movies, assisting parents who are able to hear to understand and communicate with their children who are deaf, and connecting young individuals who are deaf with adult role models who are deaf.

The Midwest Ear Institute is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life by restoring hearing. We accomplish this by evaluating and treating patients and by our involvement in clinical research projects. Through our work, we relieve the isolation and misunderstanding caused by hearing loss and other ear-related disorders by educating patients, their families, and professionals in the field.

Has following programs for individuals with hearing impairments and deafness: 1) school program for grade school, junior high, and high school students; 2) Captioned Media Program (CMP)-loans captioned videos and DVD's; 3) Project Outreach-serves children birth through 5 years old and their parents who are in First Steps program or ECSE program in the school district, offering information about hearing impairments, communication, and language through home visits; 4) Consultation Services for educational and developmental needs; 5) Evaluations to determine what services are needed to support a child in a school setting; 6) Sports programs; 7) Audiology Services-hearing evaluations for birth through 21 years old, center that gives consultation on assistive listening devices, assistive technology rental program for school districts, and hearing aid loaner program for when children's hearing devices wear out or get lost.
