Special Neighbors provides supports and services based on individual needs, wants and capabilities. The persons we support live in many different types of residences primarily located in Eastern Jackson County. Our services focus on being responsive to rather than responsible for people. This person-centered approach entails quality staff teaching skills and providing supports that help the people we serve to: Be in charge of their own lives; Live safely in the community; Advocate for their rights and retain self-respect and dignity; Meet their basic needs; Be involved in their community; and Develop and maintain positive relationships.

UCP of Greater Kansas City provides a variety of services to people in the greater Kansas City and St. Louis metropolitan areas. We are chartered to serve five counties in Kansas City (Jackson, Clay, Platte in Missouri and Johnson, Wyandotte in Kansas.). We address our mission through three program areas: Community Living - in Kansas City and St. Louis, Family Support - including our sports and recreation programs, and SeniorLink.
